National park Mljet
“The lost paradise”. This is the common thing to hear from people who had the chance to visit this magnificent island. The island of Mljet is one of the most beautiful and most densely wooded island in the Adriatic. One par of the island, its west side, was declared a national park in 1960. Ancient Greeks called the island “Melita”, which means “honey”, and this only tells us how they felt about Mljet. The national park consists of two lakes, the Great lake, and the Samll lake. In the middle of the Great lake you will finda a small island. On this very island, the island of St. Mary, you can enter Benedictine monastery and church of the 12th century. Here, you will find the peace and quiet that we always need sometimes.
